Era semplice osteria del porto e il nome scaturì dalla pagina musicale che il compositore livornese Mascagni creò per l'opera "Silvano". La bella palazzina anni Trenta è oggi tempio e storia del vero cacciucco, rissosa zuppa di pesce che non ha eguali, gustata da mille celebrità. Per l'amicizia di lunga data col presidente della Repubblica Carlo Azeglio Ciampi, nel 2005, ha organizzato a Roma il banchetto per il suo ottantacinquesimo compleanno. Originally an unsophisticated tavern on the port, it took its name from the music that Livorno composer Mascagni created for his opera 'Silvano'. The delightful 1930s building is now home and shrine to the authentic 'cacciucco', the unruly fish soup that is unrivalled anywhere and enjoyed by countless celebrities. In 2005, a long-standing friendship with Carlo Azeglio Ciampi, President of the Republic, led to the preparation of his eighty-fifth birthday banquet in Rome. Now in the hands of the third generation.
