Napoleone era qui, alla fine di maggio del 1796, comandante dell'Armata d'Italia. E cacciò gli austriaci al di là del Mincio. Antica stazione di posta del 1600 e confine tra impero austro-ungarico e Repubblica veneta, la Locanda è ritrovo romantico di grandi attori. Visconti vi girò le battaglie di "Senso". Storici anche gli "agnolotti", ricetta importata dal mantovano e rivisitata all'inizio del secolo scorso.

In 1796, Napoleon was in command of the Italian Army and forced the Austrians into retreat. At that time, he would stop off here to change his horses because this site was the border between the Austro-Hungarian Empire and the Republic of Veneto. This ancient Inn was the romantic meeting place for famous actors and here Luchino Visconti shot many scenes of the movie "Senso". It is renowned for its agnolotti which are still made from the original and traditional recipe.
