Qui è passato veramente il mondo. Perché il palazzo dei dogi Dandolo già nel Quattrocento era destinato a ospitare i grandi personaggi in sosta a Venezia. Poi, come albergo, è divenuto leggenda: con la passione tra George Sand e Alfred De Musset vissuta nel 1833 nella camera numero 10; per l'amore tra D'Annunzio e la Duse; con Wagner, Thomas Mann, Proust e Faulkner.
 
As the saying goes: "The whole world has walked through the foyer of this legendary Hotel". Already in the 15th century, the Palazzo of the Dandolo Doges had many an illustrious guest. It was transformed into a Hotel in 1822 and the list of VIPs kept growing longer: Wagner, Thomas Mann, Proust, Faulkner. Alfred De Musset and George Sand stayed in Room 10.
