Designed by Josef Munsch and Carl Lun, two of the great names in Art Nouveau in Merano, it takes us on a journey back to the Belle époque. The garden, architectonics, façades, halls and even the lift are splendidly preserved in all their original beauty. Originally 'Hotel Austria', a winter resort for wealthy German, Austrian and Hungarian guests, it changed name after the Great War. Like all the major hotels in the city, it became a military hospital during both world wars. Today it also a beauty farm and a top-class spa.
