This is truly the castle of mystery. During the Third Reich, it is said there was a special unit stationed in the Schloss Labers Hotel of Merano - their mission, to counterfeit American dollars. The view of Merano from the hotel is superb. Memorabilia of the past. Guests have been Rudolf Diesel and the writers Stefan Zweig and Paul von Heyse, a Nobel Prize winner.
